ChozoLoops, the platform, has nothing to do with Meta. Also, that article is over a year old.
I’m sure it still has a ways to go and adoption is key but this just sounds like what the internet honestly needs to fundamentally exist

Fb does not work from my phone, it gets glitchier every year. They are too busy on their stupid metaverse and counting their money to fix those glitches apparently.

NovalingI donated sometime during the big fundraiser in January or so. It took a while but they did release server code a few months ago, and it’s nice to see that it’ll federate with other services soon.

S3-Compatible Storage Required Currently, Loops requires an S3-compatible filesystem (like AWS S3, MinIO, or DigitalOcean Spaces) for avatar and video storage. Support for local storage is on the way but is not yet implemented. Please ensure you have S3 credentials ready before proceeding.
To be fair, you can simply selfhost MinIO.
Yeah, I wouldn’t bother implementing local storage if I could easily roll a local S3 in the docker-compose.yaml.
Cloudflare provides 10 GB of free (forever) S3 compatible storage too.
Are there apps for this yet?
There is one you have to sign up for on their site. I’m assuming it’ll be GA shortly.

Nimadid they fix the feed and algorithm issues yet? or is it still doing the thing where it shows you the same feed every time you open the app.
edit: just reinstalled to check. it doesn’t seem to have been updated since February and the feed issue still persists. that is a shame. I hope they can fix it.

TuneLoops doesn’t have an algorithm, it just shows you the most recent videos uploaded to Loops. At least, in the For You tab anyways.

I don’t mind short form, but I loathe vertical videos. But I guess these days those are basically 1 in the same.

I think someone told me in another thread a while back discussing loops that at the time it was only like certain libraries and whatnot? I wasn’t sure if that was still the case, or if that person was right, or what 🤷♂️

This app is the worse app I ever tried . Like I said it is at best an alpha. Why would anybody use it when I can’t search by keyword and the app only suggest 3 creators?

I don’t particularly like short form content (*at all*) but I was hoping that there’d be some relevant connection between the platforms
it’d be cool if their android app could get updated. and they fix the feed from just showing you the same string of videos constantly.
other than those two things im sure it will be awesome.
I have been doing some uploading there for a few mths. My biggest gripe is that they support 60 second videos, but anything over 15 seconds (for me) never finishes uploading.
I have seen the repeats too though.
I see a lot of these threads praising loops and i have never been able to use it effectively despite my efforts. =( and I have really wanted it to.
I am curious about the length restriction as well. I wonder if these are all things they’re going to address and fix. but you’d think they’d have done all that before making announcements and whatnot.
