I grew up watching the rallying, and this series has been away from the UK for a few years. The UK event was always in Wales when I used to watch it, so a Scottish event at the very top level of the sport is something I can't wait to see!
Overwhelming disappointment at this proposals from all corners except STV head office. Why dither? Ofcom leadership bricking it of course. STV won’t hand their license back, and even if they do: good! Scotland could do with another broadcaster, and doricland based one would be my preference

Largely funded by Salmond true believers and transphobes in narrative, so no surprise with Salmond in the ground and Swinney changing his tune on trans rights. But I also suspect a schism that cost the SNP last Holyrood election at least a few seats. And, a place to show dissatisfaction with the handling of independence, they also regularly spoke out against the Scottish Government. Reportedly with 5,000 members also. Making this a mixed bag for a party dissapearing in Scotland, we are both richer (mostly) and poorer (slightly) for the loss of The Alba Party (2021-2026)
Not sure how I feel about this. On one hand resorts like this being open isn’t what they are about, freedom to roam for children is key, and they typically aren’t huge sites. But they also shouldn’t be restricting access in Scotland. Even Balmoral was not immune to this law. No map, so some poor journalism from the BBC here, and SBC should have retained the right to review the site too. A 12ft fence is clearly not in keeping with the spirit of the law for instance, and styles and gates are well established in Scotland to maintain access, but ensure privacy is respected too
10 or so weeks to go. Already rolling out John Curtice. Gonna be a big election for the BBC, not just Holyrood I surmise. A real test to see how multi party politics is covered fairly here. They have been really shit with their reform and brexiteer platforming over the years, but with the SNP and SGP both polling significantly higher, Labour and Conservatives looking like also rans, Lib Dems are still liars, and Alba having as many as Reform MSPs - can Pacific Quay do a good job?

Never a fan of the papers, or Edinburgh/Glasgow live, but they still sell plenty in Scotland. This is bad news for journalism, Cardonald, and the workers. Scottish editions printed in England won’t help their circulation either!
Betteridge says no, but read this article and I’d bet otherwise. Community ownership of money generating resources. Smash the system folks, as this is the resource that keeps on paying. And no billionaires in sight. Ipads, allotments, engineering and science learning. Community ownership is a really powerful concept, and one we’re seeing more and more of in 21C Scotland.
