This is a service to help communities propagate to other instances and help with discovery of communities. So far tested and working with PieFed & Lemmy Instances - I suspect it should work with Mbin, but need to test it (Any Mbin Instance volunteers?)
With previous Rexit’s like the API debarcle etc. many users were left looking for an alternative, but with decision fatigue and bad UX etc. most did not find the Fediverse a viable option.
I really enjoy retro aesthetics , especially the Frutiger Aero style. I’m also really interested in old macOS Aqua ‘s design language and Y2K aesthetics.
What's the etiquette for posting #mastodon or other federated posts on some of the other reddit-analogues? From what I see you can just mention a #piefed or #lemmy group in a post and it will create a post in that group. But is that actually something the users of those platforms want?
After 5 months of chipping away at it, PieFed is now an installable ‘app’ in the Yunohost store! It’s been there for a couple of weeks actually but until this weekend it had a scary red exclamation mark because some automated tests hadn’t ran yet. But that’s gone now so I feel confident about recommending it to others.
I recently asked for some PeerTube recommendation and it made me realize how disjointed the URL system can seem to the median, not technically-inclined, not-motivated, user.
In the monthly server updates for lemmy.zip/piefed.zip there’s a mantra that’s repeated every month. I think it’s wonderful and can be applied to the Fediverse as a whole.
